LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A brief look at the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club:

LEADING: Tiger Woods at 11-under 133, tying him for the lowest 36-hole score in relation to par in a PGA, a standard previously set by Mark O'Meara and Ernie Els in 1995.

LURKING: Scott Dunlap at 134.

ON THE LINE: A $5 million purse, with $900,000 going to the winner.

ON A ROLL: Woods, seeking his third straight major championship, extended to 13 the number of rounds he's shot par or better in the season's big four tournaments.

HALFWAY: Woods can become the first repeat winner since the championship went to medal play in 1958.

STAGGERING: Davis Love III bogeyed the final two holes, playing the 18th in near-darkness, to finish at 7 under.

HEADED HOME: Former champions Jack Nicklaus, Hal Sutton, Vijay Singh, Nick Price, Bob Tway and John Daly missed the cut. So did Mark Brooks, who won the previous time the PGA was at Valhalla.

SHOT OF THE DAY: Jack Nicklaus' 72-yard sand wedge at the 18th came within 2 feet of rolling into the cup for an eagle that would have enabled him to make the cut.

MESSAGE OF THE DAY: On the scoreboard behind the 18th green, "37 golden years at the PGA. Thank you, Bear."

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "He's won more majors than I made cuts in. It should be some day." -- Dunlap about playing in the final pair Saturday with Woods.

TUNING IN: Television coverage of the third round begins at 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. EDT (TNT), then 1:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. EDT (CBS).
