Tiger's round got off to a shakey start when he hooked his drive into the left rough. With a tree in front of him, Tiger punched an 8-iron from 110 yards out, his ball bounding over the green about 15 feet off. From a decent lie, he hit a full-swing flop shot to 10 feet, then missed the quick putt on the left for bogey.

Torn between a 7- and 8-iron because of the wind, Tiger went with the 8 and hit his shot about 8 feet left of the pin. His stroked a nice putt, but it missed on the left side for a tap-in par.

Tiger again misfired with his driver, pulling his tee shot into the left rough. "Why are you going left," he said in disgust. "Tiger, what are you doing?" From 90 yards out, Tiger barely cleared the front bunker, his ball finding the rough. A deftly played chip left Tiger with a 3-footer for par, which he made.

Tiger straightened out his driver here, blasting his ball down the middle of the fairway. From about 90 yards out, Tiger hit a sand wedge above the hole, leaving himself a slippery 12-footer for birdie. Tiger stroked the downhiller softly, missing on the right side of the cup. He made the 4-foot comebacker for par.

Tiger hit a huge fade down the left side that found the fairway. From a slight downhill lie 155 yards outs, Tiger hit an easy short-iron about 30 feet past the pin. Faced with a very fast downhill putt that broke hard to the left, Tiger played about 6 feet of break but missed the putt on the right side, leaving a tap-in for par.

Tiger gave another shot back when his 9-iron tee shot flew left of the green, hit the collar of the bunker and rolled in. He blasted to about 5 feet past, then missed the downhiller on the left edge. He then tossed the misbehaving ball into the lake surrounding the green.

Tiger righted the ship by ripping a 3-wood into the center of the fairway, followed by an 80-yard sand wedge shot over the flag. From 15 feet above the hole, Tiger lightly tapped the ball and, after watching it dive into the hole, said, "That one felt good."

A smashed long-iron tee shot split the fairway. From 115 yards out, Tiger hit a sand wedge about 30 feet short of the hole. Tiger left the uphiller short and to the right. "Can't putt a ball, I swear to God," he said in dejectedly before tapping in for par.

Tiger climbed back to even par with a nice birdie here. He crushed a drive, then, from 235 yards out, hit a 5-iron into the front-right bunker. He blasted to 5 feet short of the hole, then canned the uphiller for birdie.

Tiger's blocked drive landed in the right rough. His middle-iron approach hit the green and came to rest about 30 feet behind the hole. He hit a good putt but missed it on the right side, leaving 2-footer for par.

Tiger pured a 6-iron to within 10 feet of the pin. Faced with a slick downhiller from slightly right of the cup, Tiger stroked a nice putt that twirled around the hole before dropping in.

Facing a very fast downhill shot to the green, Tiger hit a full-swing flop shot that nearly went in, leaving a tap-in for par.

Tiger bombed a 3-wood tee shot that split the fairway, leaving only 114 yards to the pin. His sand wedge shot stopped within 10 feet of the hole. Facing a downhill putt, Tiger hit it left of the cup, 4 feet past. He calmly made the putt for par.

Tiger creamed a driver down the right side of the fairway. From 124 yards out, Tiger hit a sand wedge right of the pin, just short of the hole. He then stroked in the 20-foot left-to-right uphiller for another birdie.

Tiger mashed another driver to the center of the fairway, setting up a go for the green in two. His 6-iron approach -- yes, 6-iron -- landed on the green 20 feet from the pin. Tiger then rolled in the left-breaking putt for his first eagle of the tournament.

Following a perfect drive down the center of the fairway, Tiger had 140 yards to the green. He pulled his 9-iron approach into the left bunker, his ball burying in a horrible lie. His blast came out hot and scooted across the green into the left rough. From an awkward stance, Tiger chipped to within inches of the cup for a costly bogey.

Tiger got that wasted stroke right back when he drove to the center of the fairway, hit a knock-down 9-iron from 140 yards out to within 8 feet of the hole, then holed the putt dead-center.

Tiger's long-iron tee shot flew 35-30 feet past the hole, leaving a ticklish downhill birdie putt. Tiger hit the putt very lightly, then laughed in amazement when it stopped just inches short of the hole, leaving a tap-in for par.
