490 Yards, Par 4
In 1976, Jerry Pate hit a 194-yard 5 iron to within two feet of this hole to win the U.S. Open. Since then, the hole has been lengthened to be the longest par 4 in PGA Championship history. Even with a perfect 300-yard tee shot, a near-perfect 190-yard second shot, like Pate's, must be struck to get to the green in two. A large lake comes into play at the left corner of the dogleg. Green is protected by bunkers to the left and by water front and right.
