RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) -- Scottish rookie Alaisair Forsyth and Irish veteran Padraig Harrington each tied a course record Friday, but Forsyth holds a two-stroke lead following the second round of the $650,000 Rio 500 Years Open. Forsyth, who is looking for his first European tour title in only seven starts after winning the Qualifying School Finals last year, and Harrington, each fired a 10-under 62, tying the course record set Thursday by Australian Peter Lonard. Forsyth, 24, is at 15-under 127. Harrington, who is at 13-under 129, is looking for his first victory since 1996. Scotsman Raymond Russell, England's Roger Chapman and Argentine Jorge Berendt and Paulo Quirici of Switzerland, all tied for third place shootng a 10-under-par 134. The Rio 500 Years Open marks the first time the PGA's European tour has traveled to South America and it is the first of two tournaments that will take place in Brazil over the next two weeks.
