LONDON (Reuters) -- Sergio Garcia has shown his commitment to Europe by entering the final event for Ryder Cup qualification, the BMW International Open in Munich.

Garcia, 21, is currently 19th in the Ryder Cup table. The top 10 following the BMW International automatically make the European team along with two captain's wild cards.

While European captain Sam Torrance has already said he would pick Garcia as a wild card, automatic qualification by the Spaniard would certainly ease Torrance's selection worries.

Key Europeans such as Jesper Parnevik of Sweden, Welshman Ian Woosnam and Spaniards Jose Maria Olazabal and Miguel Angel Jimenez are also outside the top 10, leaving Torrance with a tricky dilemma with his wild-card choices.

Ideally, Garcia would gain sufficient points at the U.S. PGA Championship in Atlanta next week to secure his Ryder Cup qualification.

A good result next week would also give him a chance of playing in the $5 million NEC Invitational a week later, where Ryder Cup points are also on offer.

But European entry into this World Golf Championship event is restricted to the top 12 from the Ryder Cup ranking after the U.S. PGA Championship.

If Garcia failed to qualify automatically from either of these tournaments he would have one last chance in Munich at the end of the month.
