PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A brief look at the final round of The Players Championship, played over the 6,896-yard, par-72 Stadium Course on the TPC at Sawgrass.

Victor: David Duval had a 1-over 73 for 285, the highest winning score since it moved to the TPC at Sawgrass in 1982.

Spoils: Duval won $900,000, the largest paycheck of his career.

Runner-up: Scott Gump (71) at 287 won $540,000.

Shot of the day: Duval hit a wedge to 6 feet for birdie on the 17th to secure the win.

Round of the day: Fred Couples had a 68 that turned out to be worth about $200,000. He moved from a tie for 40th to a tie for 4th.

Key statistic: Duval did not three-putt all week.

Noteworthy: The victory moves Duval to No. 1 in the world, ending Tiger Woods reign at 41 consecutive weeks.
