UNIONDALE, New York (AP) -- Zhao Yan saved a penalty kick as China beat world-champion Norway 4-2 in a shootout Saturday to advance to the Goodwill Games gold-medal match.

The United States, 1996 Olympic women's soccer champion, faced Denmark in the second semifinal.

China and Norway tied 1-1 in regulation on second-half goals by Marianne Pettersen and Yunjie Fan.

In the shootout, Zhao knocked away Norway's second shot by Goril Kringen, and China clinched the victory when Kjersti Thun's kick was wide right.

Xie Hiulin, Qiu Haiyan, Man Yanling and Sun Wen all converted for China. Hege Risse and Henriette Viker scored for Norway in the shootout.
