Only teams that won the Stanley Cup are included, so the 2000 Blues, 1996 Red Wings, 1993 Penguins, 1986 Oilers, 1971 Bruins, 1967 Blackhawks and other great Presidents' Trophy winning teams that failed to win the Cup are not listed. Additionally, the list is limited to teams since the 1942-43 season when the Brooklyn Americans folded, leaving the NHL with the Original Six.
