Mental Toughness
Over the past several seasons, Osgood has slipped into a pattern of shining moments clouded by unreliable and undependable stretches. The problem is, the stretches of unreliable play are increasing, while the hot streaks aren't nearly what they used to be.

Glove Hand
He is still one of the better glove goalies around, but Osgood gave up many goals this season high to the glove side. At times, he gets a little lazy in his early positioning, still feeling his glove hand can bail him out.

Stick
Osgood shoots the puck well and also passes well, however, he still likes to linger over the puck when out fielding it.

Pads
He makes excellent use of his leg pads, especially in tight quarters. Osgood does yield his share of rebounds due to his propensity for playing down and deep.

Style
Osgood is agile and moves well laterally -- a true acrobat -- though he often overcommits on wide-angle chances near the net. At his best, there is no one more fun to watch, but because Osgood relies on quickness more so than positioning, he is seldom set when stopping the puck. The result? A mix of dazzling saves, plenty of rebounds and goals on shots that are imminently stoppable.

Intangible
This is possibly Osgood's last chance to display his worth as a go-to goaltender.

Stanley Cup
Won the Stanley Cup in 1997 and 1998 with the Detroit Red Wings; Stanley Cup Finals with Red Wings in 1995.
