Wade toughs it out

Redden's sore left knee can't keep him out of Game 3

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Ottawa Senators defenseman Wade Redden was in lineup for Game 3 against New Jersey on Thursday night, two days after straining his left knee in the Eastern Conference finals.

He was hurt when he knocked knees with New Jersey's Turner Stevenson in the third period of the Devils' 4-1 victory Tuesday that tied the best-of-seven series 1-1. The injury occurred behind the Senators' net, just as Redden cleared the puck around the boards.

Redden was listed as day-to-day, but he took the ice for pregame warmups and was announced in the lineup shortly after. Stevenson, however, was scratched because of a groin injury that also sidelined him for two games in the second round against Tampa Bay.

Redden leads Ottawa in ice time, playing more than 25 minutes a game this postseason. He tops the team's defensemen in points, with a goal and seven assists.
