CHARLOTTE 3, GREENSBORO 0
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Scott Meyer made 36 saves as the Charlotte Checkers blanked the Greensboro Generals, 3-0. Meyer made double-digit saves in each period en route to his fourth career shutout.
Mike Hartman, Blaz Emersic and Dusty Jamison all scored in the second period for Charlotte, which improved to 9-3-1 in December.
Daniel Berthiaume registered 28 saves for Greensboro, which was shut out for only the second time this season.
COLUMBUS 2, GREENVILLE 1
GREENVILLE, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Roman Ndur scored late in the third period to help the Columbus Cottonmouths edge the Greenville Grrrowl, 2-1. Ndur broke a 1-1 tie with only 2:43 remaining with assists from Carlyle Lewis and Dan Tessier.
Lewis finished with a pair of helpers and Tessier scored 60 seconds into the second period for Columbus, which has won four straight games and eight of its last 10.
Matus Kostur stopped 15 of 16 shots to pick up the win.
Ryan Stewart tallied late in the second period for Greenville, which has dropped 11 of its last 12 games.
Daniel Boisclair turned away 36 of 38 shots in the loss.
GWINNETT 7, AUGUSTA 2
DULUTH, Georgia (Ticker) -- Anthony Aquino and Cam Brown each scored twice and Rick Emmett supplied four assists as the Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Augusta Lynx, 7-2. Aquino, who also provided an assist, gave Gwinnett a 3-0 lead early in the second period and added his 13th goal of the season early in the third.
Brown scored both of his goals on the power play for the Gladiators, who improved to 4-0 against Augusta.
Michael Garnett, who was recently named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week, made 18 saves to improve to 9-3-0 in December.
Wes Swinson and Josh Bennett scored for the Lynx, who have gone 1-3-1 in their last five games.
Andy Kollar made 42 saves in his debut with Augusta.
IDAHO 3, LAS VEGAS 2 (SO)
BOISE, Idaho (Ticker) -- Andrei Vasilyev scored the decisive shootout goal to help the Idaho Steelheads edge the Las Vegas Wranglers, 3-2. Vasilyev tied the game at 2-2 with a power-play goal late in the second period and assisted on Jan Kopecky's tally in the first.
Dave Cornacchia handed out a pair of assists for Idaho, which is unbeaten over its last six games.
Dan Ellis stopped 18 of 20 shots to notch his 10th win of the season.
Jason McBain recorded a goal and an assist for Las Vegas, which has dropped two of its last three games after going 8-1 over the previous nine.
Marc Magliarditi turned away 41 of 43 shots in the loss for the Wranglers.
LOUISIANA 6, COLUMBIA 4
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Konstantin Kalmikov and Kenny Corupe each had two goals and an assist to lead the Louisiana IceGators past the Columbia Inferno, 6-4. Kalmikov broke a 3-3 tie 7:47 into the third period and Corupe, who scored in the first period, followed over two minutes later.
Kalmikov sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Ed McCrane notched a goal and an assist for Louisiana, which has won seven of its last 10 games.
Frederic Cloutier allowed four goals on 28 shots to pick up the win.
Barrie Moore produced a goal and two assists for Columbia, which has dropped back-to-back games on the road for only the second time this season.
Trevor Prior replaced Josh Blackburn in the first period and gave up three goals on 27 shots to take the loss.
MISSISSIPPI 4, TEXAS 3
BILOXI, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Travis Lisabeth scored with just 1:20 remaining to lift the Mississippi Sea Wolves to a 4-3 victory over the Texas Wildcatters.
Lisabeth pounced on a loose puck in front of the net and beat goaltender Davis Parley with his eighth goal of the year.
Louis Dumont, the ECHL's all-time leading scorer, tallied twice to give Mississippi a 3-2 lead by the 6:24 mark of the third period.
Sean Matile made 29 saves to improve to 8-0-1 in December for the Sea Wolves, who upped their mark to 5-1 against Texas.
John Snowden, who picked up an assist in the first period, knotted the score at 3-3 midway through the third for the Wildcatters.
Parley made 18 of his 29 saves in the second period for Texas, which had its season-long, two-game winning streak snapped.
SAN DIEGO 4, LONG BEACH 2
SAN DIEGO, California (Ticker) -- Mark Pederson scored a pair of goals as the San Diego Gulls doubled up the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 4-2. Pederson opened the scoring late in the first period and gave San Diego the lead for good at 2-1 with only 80 seconds remaining in the second.
Sylvain Deschatelets had a goal and an assist and Billy Tibbetts recorded three helpers for the Gulls, who have won eight of their last nine games.
David Burleigh allowed two goals on 21 shots to earn the win.
Nick Ganga notched a goal and an assist for Long Beach, which has dropped 11 of its last 15 games.
T.J. Aceti turned away 31 of 35 shots to take the loss.
TRENTON 6, JOHNSTOWN 1
TRENTON, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Mathieu Brunelle recorded a hat trick and Alex Westlund made 35 saves in his season debut as the Trenton Titans defeated the Johnstown Chiefs, 6-1. Brunelle, who has produced seven points in his last three games after going without a point in his previous five, scored in each period to up his season total to seven goals.
Westlund had his bid for a shutout broken with 8:34 remaining but posted his first win in the league since March 31, 2002 when he was a member of the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Devin Rask notched a goal and two assists for Trenton, which won for just the third time in 11 games (3-7-1). Willie Levesque scored for Johnstown, which lost for the sixth time in nine games (2-6-1). David Currie made 31 saves in the loss.
