Posted: Tues April 17, 2001 at 8:03 p.m. EDT MADISON HEIGHTS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Brad Leeb of the Kansas City Blades and Richard Shulmistra of the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday were named IHL Player and Goaltender of the Week, respectively, for the period ending Sunday. Leeb tallied two goals and six points last week. The 21-year-old Alberta native had a pair of goals in a 5-4 win over Grand Rapids on Sunday. In his second professional season and first in the IHL, Leeb finished with 18 goals and 34 points in 53 games. Shulmistra was named the league's top goalie for the third time this season, first receiving the honors January 15 and then again February 26. The 29-year-old Shulmistra won both his starts this week, yielding just one goal in two games. Shulmistra, who was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1992 NHL supplemental draft, finished the season 20-8-0 for the Wolves, who finished with the best record in the Western Conference.© 2003 SportsTicker Enterprises, LP
