CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Eduard Pershin and Kal Nurminen both scored a pair of goals as the Cleveland Lumberjacks defeated the Detroit Vipers, 7-2. Pershin opened the scoring with back-to-back goals in the first period and Richard Park added his 27th marker of the year with 2:23 remaining in the stanza to give Cleveland a 3-0 lead. Nurminen tallied 9:27 into the second period and scored his 25th goal with 3:11 left in the middle frame as the Lumberjacks snapped a two-game losing streak. Zac Bierk picked up the win, improving to 22-17-5 with a 32-save performace. Daniel Goneau and Mark Thompson each scored for Detroit, which dropped to 1-6-0 in its past seven games. Dieter Kochan took the loss, surrendering six goals on 26 shots.
