ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Wild re-signed Andrei Zyuzin on Thursday after a season in which he was second among the team's defensemen in goals and points. The two-year contract is worth about $2.5 million.

Zyuzin, a restricted free agent, was claimed off waivers last November by the Wild. The Russian had four goals and 12 assists in 66 games last season and tied for second in the NHL with three short-handed assists.

Zyuzin played in all of Minnesota's 18 playoffs games, recording one assist.

He has played in 293 NHL games with San Jose, Tampa Bay, New Jersey and Minnesota.

The Wild's only unsigned restricted free agents are forwards Marian Gaborik and Pascal Dupuis and defenseman Willie Mitchell, who appears headed for arbitration. Gaborik and Dupuis aren't eligible for arbitration.

Pens sign veterans Buchberger, Eastwood

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins signed veteran unrestricted free agents Kelly Buchberger and Mike Eastwood and came to terms with three younger players on Thursday.

Buchberger is a 16-year NHL veteran who played on three Stanley Cup champions with the Edmonton Oilers, and also played for Atlanta, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Buchberger, 36, has 104 goals and 201 assists with 2,188 penalty minutes in 1,111 career games.

Eastwood, 36, has 83 goals and 134 assists with 314 penalty minutes in 12 seasons with Toronto, Winnipeg, Phoenix, the New York Rangers, St. Louis and Chicago.

The Penguins also agreed to terms with restricted free agent forwards Rico Fata, 23, and Toby Petersen, 24, and defenseman Rob Scuderi, 24, who had all received qualifying offers from the team.
