EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Forward Jeff Friesen accepted the New Jersey Devils' qualifying offer and agreed to terms on a $3 million deal for next season.

Friesen had 23 goals and 28 assists in 81 regular-season games last season, his first with the Stanley Cup champion Devils. He added 10 goals in 24 postseason games, scoring the game-winner in four of New Jersey's 16 postseason victories.

Friesen scored the winning goal in the third period of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals in Ottawa to send the Devils to the Stanley Cup finals for the third time in four years.

He scored five goals in the finals against Anaheim, including two in New Jersey's 3-0 win in Game 7.
