Carter's arbitration postponed by blackout

TORONTO (AP) -- New York Rangers forward Anson Carter's arbitration hearing was postponed Friday because of the blackout that hit parts of Canada and the United States.

His case will be heard next week.

Thursday's power outages prevented the New York-based arbitrator from flying to Toronto for Carter's hearing.

Carter, who lives in Toronto, made $2.4 million last season, when he had 26 goals and 34 assists for the Rangers and Edmonton Oilers. He also scored the winning goal in the gold-medal game for Canada at the World Hockey Championships in May.
