DETROIT (CNNSI.com) -- Despite a tear in the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, Bryan Smolinski is skating with the Los Angeles Kings and considering playing in the first round of the playoffs against Detrot.

Ronald Kvitne, the Log Angeles Kings' doctor, called it a medical 'miracle,' but the Kings are going to weigh every option.

"We're still assuming that he won't play, at least in the first two games," Kings head coach Andy Murray told The Los Angeles Times. "We'll be monitoring him closely."

Smolinski has 20 goals and 56 points for the Kings this season.
