By Al Strachan, Toronto Sun

PHILADELPHIA -- While Flyers head coach Roger Neilson was on hand to watch his team from a private box on Thursday, he had left town by last night -- and he wasn't happy.

Assistant coach Craig Ramsay, who took over on what was supposed to be a temporary basis when Neilson was found to be suffering from cancer, was back behind the bench last night, which was the cause of Neilson's anger.

He had wanted to return to head-coaching duties for this series and when team management would not allow it, Neilson at least wanted to be behind the bench, even if Ramsay continued to make the decisions.

But general manager Bob Clarke, reportedly acting on instructions from owner Ed Snider, insisted Neilson could not be involved with the team at all.

This sparked a heated argument between Neilson and Flyers assistant GM Paul Holmgren. Neilson finally stormed out and went to Dallas, where his girlfriend lives.
