SAN JOSE, Calif. (CNNSI.com) -- With St. Louis Blues general manager Larry Pleau saying Pavol Demitra needs to go 10 days without a headache before he can return, Blues fans can pretty much count out seeing Demitra at all in the first round.

Demitra's headaches have returned, and except for two days last week they have been a constant since March 24 when he suffered a concussion.

Demitra led the Blues in regular-season scoring with 28 goals and 75 points.

Since the concussion, Michal Handzus, Lubos Bartecko and rookie Ladislav Nagy have combined for two goals in 10 games, with one goal -- by Bartecko -- in two playoff games.

Handzus and Bartecko also went scoreless in the three games Demitra missed with a sore arm in late December and early January. The team was 4-4-3 in the regular-season games that Demitra missed.

"It's noticeable when you miss a guy who has been in the top 10 scoring for the last two years," Joel Quenneville told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
