NEW YORK (AP) -- Defenseman Alexei Zhitnik of the Buffalo Sabres has been suspended for one playoff game after hitting Philadelphia Flyers forward Daymond Langkow with his stick Tuesday night.

After an exchange with 7:16 left in the second period of the Flyers' 3-2 overtime loss to the Sabres, Zhitnik took a one-handed swipe with his stick that caught Langkow on the side of the head.

Zhitnik got a four-minute high-sticking penalty.

Zhitnik will miss Game 5 of the series, at Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Flyers lead the best-of-seven first-round series 3-1.
