Satan fined for high-sticking

Satan has one goal on five shots entering Game 3 (AP)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Buffalo Sabres forward Miroslav Satan was fined $1,000 Thursday by the National Hockey League for a high-sticking incident in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final against the Washington Capitals.

Satan delivered a glancing blow to the face of Washington forward Chris Simon. No penalty was called, but after a review of the incident by NHL director of hockey operations Brian Burke, the fine was assessed.
