Stars acquire Diduck from Leafs
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Defenseman Gerald Diduck was acquired by the Dallas Stars from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday for future considerations. To make room on the roster, the Stars assigned defenseman Richard Jackman to the IHL's Utah Grizzlies. Diduck, 35, did not play in the Maple Leafs' first 10 games this season. The 6-foot-1, 216-pound defenseman had three points and one assist in 26 regular season and playoff games last season. Diduck's best season was 1988-89 with the New York Islanders, when he had 11 goals and 21 assists in 65 games. He has played for five other NHL teams. Jackman, 22, played in eight games for the Stars this season. The 6-2, 192-pound defenseman was drafted by the Stars in 1996.
