Minnesota acquires Zholtok from Edmonton

The 28-year-old Zholtok had five goals and 26 assists in 69 games with Edmonton and the Montreal Canadiens last season.
Edmonton acquired the 6-foot-1, 197-pounder from Montreal in exchange for center Chad Kilger in December.
During the 1999-00 season, Zholtok led the Canadiens with 26 goals and seven game-winners, and had 38 points. But he struggled in 32 games with Montreal last season, recording just one goal and 10 assists before the Canadiens traded him to Edmonton.
The native of Riga, Latvia, was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round of the 1992 NHL entry draft. He has 62 goals and 84 assists in 367 career NHL games for Boston, Ottawa, Montreal and Edmonton.
Rangers get defenseman Gagnon from Senators
The 27-year-old Gagnon appeared in five games last season, getting one assist and 34 penalty minutes for the Senators. In the minors, he was an enforcer for Grand Rapids of the now-defunct IHL, getting 226 penalty minutes.
Ulmer, 24, played most of last season in the minors, but scored three goals for the Rangers. Doig, also 24, appeared in just three games for New York. He had four goals and 20 assists for Hartford of the AHL.
Blues exercise options on RW Mayers, D Khavanov
The 26-year-old Mayers recorded his first 20-point season of his career in 2000-01, collecting eight goals and 13 assists in 77 games. He set career highs in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes (117).
Khavanov, 29, had seven goals and 16 assists in 74 games in his first NHL season. He posted a plus-minus rating of plus-16 with 52 penalty minutes.
In 15 playoff games, Khavanov had three goals and two assists.
Flames re-sign C Conroy
The 29-year-old Conroy was acquired from the St. Louis Blues at the trading deadline in March, in exchange for Cory Stillman.
Conroy had 14 goals and 18 assists in 83 games with St. Louis and Calgary last season.
