COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets scrimmaged Sunday and raised about $35,000 for the families of victims in the terrorist attacks.

Members of the Columbus fire and police department hockey teams walked through the crowd of 4,000 at Nationwide Arena and collected donations.

"This has been a terribly difficult week for everyone and this was a way for our organization to do a little bit to help those who have suffered tremendously," Blue Jackets president and general manager Doug MacLean said.

In the scrimmage, Columbus' Team Blue beat Team White 5-2. Ron Tugnutt, Grant Marshall, Ray Whitney, Mike Sillinger, Espen Knutsen and Marc Denis signed autographs for fans.
