BOSTON (Ticker) -- Rookie Brian Boucher looks like he is going to have a bright future for the Philadelphia Flyers. Ray Bourque's future with the Boston Bruins looks to be in doubt.

Boucher recorded his second career shutout and Bourque could have played his final game for the Bruins as the Flyers earned a 3-0 victory.

Taking the bulk of playing time from veteran John Vanbiesbrouck, the 23-year-old Boucher stopped 21 shots for his first road shutout. He blanked Tampa Bay at home on December 18.

Meanwhile, Bourque's days in Boston appear numbered. A five-time Norris Trophy winner as the league's top defenseman, Bourque already has given the Bruins permission to deal him to a contender before the March 14 trade deadline.

With a game Monday against Ottawa, Bourque -- who has spent all 21 of his NHL seasons with the Bruins, received a standing ovation from the FleetCenter crowd in the waning seconds. He skated to the bench with the puck in his hand and acknowledged the fans.

"I can't worry about who we may have," said Flyers interim coach Craig Ramsay, whose club is rumored to be interested in Bourque. "I just coach the players I have here now."

"Whoever does get Raymond will be a lucky team," added Philadelphia defenseman Eric Desjardins. "I just hope it's us, but we'll have to wait and see."

All-Star Eric Lindros returned to the lineup for the Flyers after missing five games with a back injury, and had a goal and an assist.

"It's just great being back on the ice," Lindros said. "To contribute makes it that much more enjoyable. I thought our passing was real crisp today and we didn't commit turnovers."

Philadelphia also regained the services of rugged center Keith Primeau, who missed nine games with a rib injury.

The Bruins continued to struggle, falling to 1-7-3 in their last 11 games. They are seven points behind Pittsburgh for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth.

"I don't think we were distracted," Bruins goaltender Rob Tallas said of the Bourque rumors. "We just didn't play a real strong game. If it happens, it happens. We will deal with it at that time."

Boston also received bad news before the game when it learned second-leading scorer Anson Carter will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a wrist injury.

Primeau helped set up the Flyers' first goal at 14:42 of the opening period. Rookie Simon Gagne took a pass in the slot and unleashed a wrist shot that beat Tallas for his 14th goal.

Boucher was hardly tested over the first 20 minutes, facing only six shots.

Lindros extended the lead at 3:39 of the second, taking a pass from John LeClair just to the left of Tallas and tapping the puck past the netminder for his 25th goal.

The Bruins' best chance to get on the board came with just over 12 minutes to play, but Boucher stopped P.J. Axelson's wrist shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle.

LeClair also set up Keith Jones' sixth goal with 3:52 remaining in the third to seal the win. Jones also had an assist on Lindros' tally.
