DETROIT (Ticker) -- This time, it was the Dallas Stars' turn to come from behind to earn a point.

Defenseman Philippe Boucher scored at 4:43 of the third period to lift the Stars into a 1-1 tie with the Detroit Red Wings - the third stalemate between the teams this season.

Controlling the puck in the right corner, Scott Pellerin fed Boucher at the top of the faceoff circle. The 29-year-old Quebec native fired a slap shot that hit defenseman Jason Woolley's stick and deflected over goaltender Manny Legace's left shoulder.

Detroit, which failed to hold a lead after two periods for just the second time (12-0-2-0), rallied twice in the third period earlier this season to salvage ties with Dallas. Jason Williams scored with 6:19 left on November 3 while Brett Hull victimized his former team with 47 seconds remaining on December 6 to forge 3-3 deadlockss.

Brendan Shanahan tallied for the Red Wings late in the second period. It was the first even-strength goal allowed by Marty Turco in 229 minutes, 19 seconds sine Los Angeles' Jason Allison beat him early in the second period on December 11.

The Stars were without center Mike Modano, who suffered a concussion in Tuesday's 2-2 tie with Philadelphia. Modano returned to Dallas and will be out of action until at least December 26.
