The Red Wings' five-game unbeaten streak ended Saturday with a 5-2 setback at Toronto.
... RW Brett Hull scored his 731st goal, tying former Red Wing Marcel Dionne for third place on the all-time list. "It's a great historic moment in hockey and it happened in a great city on 'Hockey Night in Canada,'" coach Dave Lewis said. "I never get tired of being around great players like Brett." Hull has a six-game goal-scoring streak.
... G Manny Legace, a Toronto native, nearly shut out the Maple Leafs last season at the Air Canada Centre debut. "Yeah, I played well here last year, but it was a different story tonight," he said. "I thought we played pretty well, it's just that they were better."
