LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Fusaichi Pegasus, the Kentucky Derby hero, was just an also-ran Saturday as Tiznow edged Giant's Causeway in the $4.77 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs.

Tiznow gave up the lead to England-based Giant's Causeway near the finish, but fought back on the inside for the victory.

Fusaichi Pegasus, the 6-5 favorite making the final start of his career, finished sixth in the 13-horse field.

"There was a lot of bouncing around," said Kent Desormeaux, who was riding Fusaichi Pegasus. "They were trying to punch me back. I was possibly too far back."

Tiznow, supplemented to the race for $360,000, finished a neck ahead of Giant's Causeway, who was three-quarters of a length ahead of Captain Steve, who was supplemented for $290,000.

Albert the Great was next, meaning the first four finishers were 3-year-olds. Lemon Drop Kid, a 4-year-old, finished fifth.

Tiznow, who won in 2:00 3-5 under Chris McCarron, paid $20.40, $8.20 and $6.20 and earned $2,480,400 for owners Michael Cooper and Cecilia Straub-Rubens.

It was McCarron's fourth Classic victory. He won aboard Alysheba in 1988, Sunday Silence in 1989 and Alphabet Soup in 1996.

"This horse will run all day," McCarron said of Tiznow, who had five victories in nine starts this year.
