LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Quotes from trainers and jockeys in Saturday's 129th Kentucky Derby:

Funny Cide (1st): "So many things go wrong in this game all the time. Today something went right for us." -- trainer Barclay Tagg.

Empire Maker (2nd): "He was giving it his all, but I could tell it was a lot more effort today than it was in the Florida Derby." -- jockey Jerry Bailey.

Peace Rules (3rd): "He tried really hard. We got a beautiful trip and settled in very easily. He tried very hard; we just got beat." -- jockey Edgar Prado.

Atswhatimtalkinabout (4th): "He got stuck down on the inside longer than we wanted and when we got clear, it was too late. He gave us a thrill for a little while anyways." -- trainer Ron Ellis.

Eye of the Tiger (5th): "I'm never happy to run fifth, but he tried real hard for us. I'm pleased with the ride he got, too." -- trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

Buddy Gil (6th): "We didn't get away from the gate and get into the position we wanted to be in. He doesn't like to get too much dirt kicked in his face." -- trainer Jeff Mullins.

Outta Here (7th): "My horse was never comfortable, but he showed his true class down the lane by putting his head down and driving to the wire." -- jockey Kent Desormeaux.

Ten Cents a Shine (8th): "I was running fourth or fifth coming into the lane, but then he got tired." -- jockey Calvin Borel.

Ten Most Wanted (9th): "I don't understand it. I can't believe it. I just don't know why he didn't run his race." -- trainer Wallace Dollase.

Domestic Dispute (10th): "My horse really tried and tried, but he was struggling to get over the track. He's a nice horse and I thought I was going to be fourth or fifth, because he did keep trying." -- jockey Alex Solis.

Scrimshaw (11th): "I was happy with Scrimshaw's race. He ran well. He'll get a lot out of it. I had to play a lot of catch up with him. There are two more legs in the Triple Crown, and I think we'll be there with him." -- trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

Offlee Wild (12th): "He just got tired the last eighth. I was laying right behind Empire Maker on the backside and he was moving good, but I ran out of horse." -- jockey Robby Albarado.

Supah Blitz (13th): "Supah Blitz was so calm, so relaxed, he made me confident and relaxed. To walk out of that tunnel on the one horse, what an experience. It was then a long post parade and I had such an emotional feeling. But once we were in the gate, I was fine." -- jockey Rosemary Homeister Jr.

Indian Express (14th): "The trip wasn't what I expected. He got stupid right out of the gate and we were left behind, just where I didn't want to be." -- jockey Tyler Baze.

Lone Star Sky (15th): "We obviously used bad judgment in running him here. We'll look for a little better spot for him next time." -- trainer Tom Amoss.

Brancusi (16th): "It's Derby. We have tried. We were not successful. We will come back next year. I'm happy -- except for the result." -- trainer Patrick Biancone.
