Sports Illustrated senior writer Grant Wahl, who joined the SI staff in 1996, covers soccer and college basketball for the magazine. Wahl grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Princeton, where he majored in politics.
Wahl's most memorable piece at SI was "Where’s Daddy?" a May 1998 cover story about athletes and their out-of-wedlock children, which he co-authored with SI’s L. Jon Wertheim. Wahl also considers his feature on the Celtic-Rangers Scottish soccer rivalry as a personal favorite.
Wahl enjoys reading, playing basketball and watching soccer on Wednesday afternoons. He and his wife currently reside in Seattle.
