Sports Illustrated senior writer Ivan Maisel finds himself busy every fall Saturday, reporting the magazine's "Inside College Football" section. Prior to rejoining the SI staff -- where he had come up the ranks as a reporter -- Maisel covered college sports for Newsday. He was a national college writer for the Dallas Morning News from 1987-94. He was a football correspondent for ESPN's "SportsCenter" and a columnist for The Sporting News. Maisel has received such honors as the Best Enterprise Story from Associated Press Sports Editors in 1997 and Football Writers Association of America in 1993. He was the president of the Football Writers Association of America in 1995.
Maisel attended Stanford University, earning a bachelor degree in American Studies.
Maisel lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children.
