Australian-born Jason Dasey is a sports anchor for CNN International (CNNI). His first assignment for ‘World Sport’ was reporting on the World Alpine Ski Championships in Colorado in February 1999. He started anchoring duties in May of that year. Before he joined CNN, Dasey worked as an independent reporter for the BBC and KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver, since 1997. From 1994 to 1997, he was a senior sports anchor for ‘BBC World’ in London. From 1992 to 1994, he ran his own production company in Australia, focusing on sports reporting. For his company, he reported and produced corporate videos and documentaries.
Dasey lived in London for more than 7 years, covering European sport. As well as his time at the BBC, he also worked for Reuters and was a sports reporter/anchor for Sky News between 1989 and 1991. His journalism career began in 1980, when he won a prestigious cadetship (3-year training) at the Sydney Morning Herald.
Dasey covered the 2000 Masters golf for ‘World Sport’. He is a former Rugby and Cricket player who now plays competitive Tennis and Soccer.
