Portland at Minnesota: Game 4

  Ernie Johnson Viewpoint

Let's get right to the point on Game 4 of this series: The point guard matchup of Minnesota's Terrell Brandon and Portland's Damon Stoudamire. They're longtime friends, dating back to Oregon childhoods when Terrell was the bat boy for Damon's Little League team.

They battled to pretty much a standstill in the first two games of the series, which Portland won, But as Minnesota stayed alive Sunday, Brandon was spectacular, and Stoudamire was hoping Will Smith would show up with that little red light from "Men in Black", zap him, and let him forget how miserable Game 3 was.

Damon didn't hit a shot in eight attempts, while Brandon came out of the gate hitting five of his first six shots enroute to a game-high 28 with 12 assists. He also went the full 48 minutes.

Stoudamire vows to be more aggressive in Game 4 on Tuesday night.

"I'm attacking" he says, and if he's able to keep TB from getting an early rhythm, Portland's in good shape.

Kevin Garnett will get his points. Shoot, he may even notch his third triple-double in four games, but if Brandon is held in check, Minnesota's in trouble.

It's win or go home for the Timberwolves, and the Target Center will be cookin' -- with gas if you heard what Garnett said about the decibel level the other day.

If you didn't, I'm not going there now.
