Knicks-Heat Game 6 preview

  Ernie Johnson Viewpoint

Just when you think you've seen in all in the New York-Miami series comes word of what happened when the Knicks' charter arrived back in New York after a Game 5 loss in Miami.

While the jet taxied, a burst of exhaust lifted Jeff Van Gundy's car off the ground, and it came to rest on top of some other parked cars belonging to, among others, Allan Houston.

Van Gundy got a ride to the Knicks' practice facility, spent the night there, and watched tape of Game 5 as the sun came up.

He didn't like what he saw.

Not enough aggressiveness....too much bickering....and only one day off to fix things.

New York's rebounding has been weak, and in Game 5, Patrick Ewing and Chris Childs didn't see eye to eye on the big fella's touches down low. Others insinuated that the big fella needs to get back on defense and not roll his eyes on the offensive end when he's not getting the ball.

Miami meantime, has match point for the first time in this series, thanks in part to what happened at The Garden one week ago tonight, when Anthony Carter lofted the controversial game winner; and thanks in part to some timely three point shooting in Game 5.

While Dan Majerle's two late bombs, and a clutch triple from Bruce Bowen made all the highlight reels, consider this: Miami was just 2 of 11 from beyond the arc up until those guys connected on three in a row.

But that's been the charm of this rugged series.

Every game has been close down the stretch. It'll be that way tonight.
