In the House Ewing makes first national TV appearanceUpdated: Tuesday November 14, 2000 6:30 PM
He spent 15 seasons in a New York Knicks uniform, but on Tuesday night on TBS, Patrick Ewing will make his first national TV appearance in his new Seattle colors. And who will he face? His old team. The Knicks and Sonics hook up in Seattle in the nightcap of our doubleheader. I'm sure there will some emotions for Patrick Tuesday night, but wait till he goes back to New York for the Sonics' one and only trip of the season. That'll be something to behold, and by the way we've got that one, too, on February 27th. But I digress.
The first game of that TBS doubleheader Tuesday will be the Magic and the Kings in Sacramento. Tracy McGrady really has to shoulder the scoring load with Grant Hill out of the Orlando lineup. The Kings have the flashy Jason Williams back, and Chris Webber's putting up All-Star numbers again. Let's talk TNT. On Wednesday night, you'll get a look at the first pick of the NBA draft. Kenyon Martin had a 20-point, seven-rebound game last week. He and Stephon Marbury and the Nets have the Heat in town. And on Thursday night on TNT, this will be some fun. A rematch of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs a year ago that went the full five games. The Lakers and Kings in Sacramento. Shaq and Kobe and Rider and Webber and Williams. There hasn't been this much excitement surrounding a Sacramento game since Kenny Smith played for 'em.
Ernie Johnson is in his 11th year as the studio host for TNT and TBS Superstation's NBA telecasts, as well as TNT's live coverage of the NBA Draft every June.
