The great cure-all: Nothing like a win

Now that's more like it.
There's nothing like a couple of podium finishes to turn a season around. I have to admit that for a while it didn't seem like we'd get there this year, but I have to hand it to my crew -- they never let me think that way and worked hard to make sure we would finish in the top three.
That's one of the great things about Target/Chip Ganassi Racing. Chip doesn't allow any negative thinking. If you're not positive and confident, you won't be on his team.
After four straight top-five finishes, every team member is feeling good about himself, and they should. Each person is responsible for our recent success. It would have been easy to get down after we struggled early on, but that didn't happen.
It was a great thrill for all of us to be on the podium in Chicago at the inaugural Target Grand Prix. That was such a fun event and it was capped off by a great race.
I look forward to the chance to make it three straight podium finishes in Monterey on Sept. 12. That's where I clinched our first PPG Cup in 1996, so that place is very special for me. Hopefully there are more good memories to come.
I hate to say it, but it's tough for me to imagine my teammate Juan finishing anywhere but first in these final few races. I'm certainly hoping to win at least once, and nothing against any of the other drivers, but this kid is smart and drives so aggressively that it's nearly impossible to keeping him behind you.
I'm knocking on wood as I say this, but I'm confident Juan will bring home Team Target's fourth straight CART Championship this year.
