Sports Illustrated's Jon Wertheim takes a weekly look at who's hot and who's not in the tennis world. Make sure to check out his daily On the Courts from Wimbledon.

AD IN

Pete Sampras: Simply the best.

Venus Williams: Her first Slam came in Grand fashion, beating Martina Hingis, Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport in last three matches.

Pat Rafter: Pondering his athletic future a just few months ago, he plays masterful serve-and-volley tennis to reach the Wimbledon final.

The Woodies: The Pete Sampras of doubles win yet another Slam in their final year together.

Vladimir Voltchkov: First qualifier to reach the semis in more than 20 years should be able to afford a hotel -- and maybe even a new pair of shorts -- at his next event.

Serena Williams: Surrenders a mere 13 games in her first five matches, and after losing awkward semifinal against big sis, they team to win the doubles.

Jan-Michael Gambill: Maybe there's hope for the next generation of American men's tennis after all. Airwolf reaches quarters and acquits himself against Sampras.

AD OUT

Mark Philippoussis: Not only falls quietly to Andre Agassi, but word on the street is that he's bagging out of next weekend's Davis Cup tie.

Richard Williams: He has every right to be proud of his daughters, but does he really need to flash a sign reminding the world it was "Venus' Party"? King Richard is well on his way to becoming tennis' answer to Dennis Rodman.

Natasha Zvereva: Gives either the Williams sisters or the partisan crowd a one-finger salute after losing in doubles semifinals.

Andriy Dernovskyy: Ukrainian junior is defaulted from event after he punches another competitor.

Say, didn't you used to get by just fine attending matches without your cell phone?
