Dillon could be traded for draft pick Posted: Wednesday April 12, 2000 12:52 PM
CNNSI.com's Pat Kirwan reports that Cincinnati president Mike Brown has spoken with Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome about the possibility of trading disgruntled running back Corey Dillon to the Ravens for the 15th pick in the draft. If the deal for Dillon goes through, Baltimore would likely select Florida State defensive tackle Corey Simon with the fifth pick in the draft, especially now that Larry Webster has been suspended indefinitely from the league and Tony Siragusa is considering retiring from the game.
The Ravens would then come back in the second round and select the wide receiver that they need. Pat Kirwan, who spent 12 years in the NFL as a coach, scout and personnel administrator, is an NFL analyst for CNN/Sports Illustrated. The opinions expressed here are those of the writer.
