Draft Day's 5 Things I Think I Think

SAN FRANCISCO -- Into the very early meat of this draft, here are five things I think I think:

1. I think that I have come around to the Cleveland Browns' way of thinking about Courtney Brown. A couple of weeks ago, I thought his intensely private nature should send him to Washington, where he could be hidden behind publicity magnets like Bruce Smith and Darrell Green. There's no question that Arrington is better suited to the publicity world. But that should not determine who should be picked No. 1

2. I think Baltimore, if it had not signed DT Sam Adams just after 11 this morning, may have traded out of the fifth pick because everyone in the organization except Art Modell wanted to do so.

3. I really like the Redskins' picks. LaVar Arrington will be the play-making linebacker that Washington has desperately lacked, and Chris Samuels will be 90 percent of Tony Boselli.

4. I think I would have liked to be listening in on all the trade conversations between Bill Walsh and Bill Parcells this week. Two powerhouses soon to leave the game making one last stab at salvaging their teams' receptive future.

5. I think Peter Warrick will be, by far, the NFL's September Rookie of the Month. Even the Bengals can't screw up his skill.
