ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- Boxing manager Shelly Finkel confirmed to CNN/SI Monday that he is a part of Mike Tyson's new management team.

Finkel joins the new Tyson team that includes Hollywood entertainment entrepreneurs Jeff Wald and Irving Azoff. Finkel said he was brought on board "through Mike," though he declined to give further specifics. Finkel said he's "in touch with him daily."

Finkel, who manages Pernell Whitaker and several young contenders including top heavyweight prospect David Tua, also confirmed that Los Angeles lawyer John Branca is looking at Tyson's current arrangements with Don King.

Finkel would not comment on Tyson's financial situation.

Finkel said that Tyson might make some boxing-related announcement "in the next couple of weeks."
