BALTIMORE (AP) -- Horse-by-horse quotes in Saturday's Preakness Stakes, in order of finish:

Charismatic: "He came out of the Derby more aggressive, more cocky, a strut in his step, like he knew he did something pretty special. He's getting to the point where he's figuring this game out." -- trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

Menifee: "I think I might have pulled the trigger a little soon and then in the far turn I got in a little tight and lost my position briefly." -- jockey Pat Day.

Badge: "People didn't give this horse a shot because of the kind of racing in New York this winter. But this horse is good enough to run with these horses." -- jockey Mike Luzzi.

Stephen Got Even: "My horse ran very spotty. I suggested to Nick (Zito) he might want to put blinkers on the horse. I think he's got a heck of a shot in the Belmont." -- jockey Gary Stevens.

Patience Game: "He finished up well and galloped up good. I would like to see him come back in the Belmont" -- jockey Corey Nakatani.

Adonis: "He had a good trip and just got a little tired." -- jockey Jorge Chavez.

Cat Thief: "There was no real excuse. He made one move but I can't see any real reason for blaming it on anything." -- jockey Mike Smith.

Kimberlite Pipe: "He flattened out through the lane." -- jockey Shane Sellers.

Valhol: "Although he was running good early, he got bounced around a little bit at the three-eighths pole. He never really responded after that." -- jockey Edgar Prado.

Vicar: "No excuses today. The pace was too fast for us but we expected that." -- trainer Carl Nafzger.

Torrid Sand: "My horse just never really ran much." -- jockey Tim Doocy.

Worldly Manner: "We were in good position, and he just started backing up at the three-eighths pole. It's hard to explain at this time." -- assistant trainer Tom Albertrani.

Excellent Meeting: "By the time I got halfway down the backside, she had just fallen out of the bridle. At the three-eighths pole, I backed off and tried to save her the best I could." -- jockey Kent Desormeaux.
