ASPEN, Colo. (AP) Caleb Moore's family and friends gathered on the snowmobile course at the Winter X Games on Saturday for a tribute ceremony that featured a video, moment of silence and a row of riders revving their engines.

Moore died almost a year ago from injuries he sustained in a crash during the freestyle competition.

Racing in his older brother's memory, Colten captured gold in the event Thursday with a stirring performance. Colten said he was touched by the tribute to his brother, especially the engine salute. He said it was "super cool. I'm sure he loved it, too."

Caleb crashed on Jan. 24, 2013, while attempting a backflip, his 450-pound sled rolling over him. He died a week later from internal injuries, the first fatality in X Games history.
