JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) -- Penny Heyns broke the world short-course record in the 100-meter breaststroke Sunday, finishing in 1 minute, 5.57 seconds in the South African championships. Heyns, the two-time Olympic champion who has broken eight world long course marks in the 50, 100 and 200 since late July, sliced 0.13 seconds off Australian Samantha Riley's 4-year-old record.
