J.J. Yeley
44 Dallara/Aurora

1998 Driver Profile
J.J. Yeley's impressive performances at Manzanita Speedway and the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway early in 1998 earned him an IRL ride with Jeff Sinden and his SRS racing team. His IRL debut came at the Dura-Lube 200 at PIR, where he qualified 10th but finished 25th after an accident. He will run in the Indianapolis 500 for SRS and possibly more if sponsorship can be found.

Career
Yeley started racing midget cars in 1991 and moved to sprints in 1994. In 1997 he was named USAC sprint car rookie of the year, finishing fifth in the national standings and winning two events. He also raced in five USAC Silver Crown races in '97.

In early 1998 Yeley posted three consecutive SCRA feature victories at Manzanita Speedway and finished sixth in the Silver Crown event at the Copper World Classic. He passed his IRL rookie test Feb. 19 at Phoenix International Raceway.
