Did enough in the No. 91 Chevrolets in early 1998 to draw interest from several car owners. Roush landed him and bumped Ted Musgrave out of this car, giving Lepage a chance to run the final 13 races. He made the top 20 in eight of those. It will be interesting to see if he or Johnny Benson has the better car out of their shop.
Career
Kevin Lepage ran up front consistently in the Busch Series, and ended 1996 on a high note by scoring his first career win at Homestead, Fla. The win came one day after Lepage and Ridling annouced a new sponsorship fo 1997 from Hype Beverages and will be a teammate of Rodney Combs, whose car David Ridling also owns.
He operated his own racing team his first two seasons with sponsorship from Vermont Teddy Bear. He struggled in the early part of his first season, then picked up momentum and experience that carried over into 1995 season.
Driving for new team Norseman Racing in 1985, Lepage earned his
first victory, at the famed Milk Bowl at Thunder Road in Barre, Vt.
Finished the season with seven top five and 22 top 10 finishes.
Became the first repeat driver to win the STP Most Improved Driver
Award.
He had his career-best finish of eighth at Bristol International Raceway in
1995, but his finest race may have come at Taladega Superspeedway, where he
competed for the lead until his car experienced mechanical problems.
He started racing in 1980 on Vermont short tracks, then competed on
American-Canadian Tour before moving to NASCAR Busch Series for 1994.
