DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (CNNSI.com) -- Neither Tony Stewart nor Robby Gordon will be fined for their brief altercation in the Daytona International Speedway garage on Wednesday.

The only action taken by NASCAR was to fine Jason Shapiro $2,000 for "actions detrimental to the sport." Shapiro, a crew member of Stewart's, will also be on probation until June 30.

NASCAR officials met with Stewart and Gordon prior to Thursday's Twin 125s.

On Wednesday, Stewart tapped the left rear of Gordon's car as Gordon was trying to pass him during practice.

The contact forced Gordon to spin out, although his car was not damaged. The pair later met in the garage, where a shouting match occurred.

Accounts of the argument vary, but Gordon suffered a slight cut near his mouth when he was restrained by members of Stewart's crew.
