Brickyard gets highest rating
NEW YORK (AP) -- Jeff Gordon's victory at the Brickyard 400 gave NBC the highest overnight rating in the race's eight-year history. NBC's coverage of Sunday's NASCAR race got a 5.7 overnight rating and 13 share, 58 percent higher than the 3.6 on ABC last year and 21 percent better than the previous high of 4.7 for ABC in 1994. Overnight ratings measure about 60 percent of the country. NBC is in its first year of coverage under a $2.8 billion TV rights deal with NASCAR that it shares with TNT and Fox.
