A doctor's opinion may decide whether this crash at the Texas 500 will keep Greg Sacks out for the year (David Taylor/Allsport)

ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- Greg Sacks, who has been out of action since hitting the wall hard during the Texas 500 on April 5, will see a neurosurgeon later this month, then decide if he'll return to Cale Yarborough's No. 98 Taurus this season or wait till next year.

Ted Musgrave said this week that his parting with Roush Racing was a mutual decision. Look for Kevin Lepage to take over the No. 16 car after the Brickyard 400 on August 1.

Ricky Rudd is still talking about starting a second Winston Cup team next year, and one driver he is considering is his Busch series regular Elton Sawyer.

How soon before another driver named Petty joins the Winston Cup circuit? How about later this year? Adam Petty, 18, who won his first race on the ASA circuit last week, will be available once that series ends in early September. Adam's father Kyle said this week that if his season keeps going as poorly as it has, he may let Adam drive a few races in his No. 44 Pontiac in September or October.

Former Oilers and Falcons head coach Jerry Glanville tried to qualify for this weekend's Craftsman Truck series stop at Milwaukee, but spun on his first lap and couldn't get the truck up to speed to make the field. Glanville will make two more attempts at making a truck race before returning to his day job, working the broadcast booth during the NFL season.
