NEW YORK (Ticker) -- International Speedway Corporation (ISC) announced an agreement Friday with The Trump Organization, owned by real estate magnate Donald Trump, to develop a major motorsports facility in the New York metropolitan area.

It will likely bring NASCAR to a yet to be determined site in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. Though the facility will bear Trump's name as The Trump Superspeedway, NYISC -- the New York subsidiary of the ISC (NYISC) -- will retain naming rights.

Terms of the deal, announced at Trump Tower in Manhattan, were not disclosed.

"We look forward to the opportunity to bring the excitement and entertainment of premier motorsports racing to the area," said ISC chairman and chief executive officer Bill France, who is also the president of NASCAR.

"It is a great honor to be involved with NYISC in developing one of the greatest speedways anywhere in the world," Trump said. "When completed, this facility will be unparalleled in the motorsports industry."

Track specifications and configurations are still under consideration, but the plans call for a state-of-the-art facility to reflect the nation's largest media market.

ISC is based in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is a leading promoter of American motorsports, covering over 80 events annually. The company owns and operates the Daytona International Speedway -- home of the Daytona 500 -- Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama, Phoenix International Speedway in Arizona, Darlington Raceway in South Carolina and Watkins Glenn International in upstate New York.

The Trump Organization holds interests in real estate, gaming, sports and entertainment, including the world-famous Fifth Avenue skyscraper, Trump Tower, the Empire State Building, the General Motors Building and many other prominent structures in New York.
