Drivers to WatchRubens Barrichello -- The Ferrari driver impressed in his debut with the team by taking second place in Australia; the 27-year-old racer finally landed a top ride and apppears to take full advantage of it; will want to put Brazil back on top of the F1 circuit as did the late Ayrton Senna.
David Coulthard -- Will look to rebound in Brazil after another disappointing start in Australia where both McLaren drivers were forced out with engine problems; gained points in eight races, including two wins last season; finished fourth in the World Drivers' championship with 48 points. Giancarlo Fisichella -- Started the season with a fifth-place finish in Australia; a steering problem with the Benetton machine caused him to battle hard to control the car; was happy with picking up two points; has one career pole and five podium finishes. Heinz-Harald Frentzen -- Vowed to get back on track at the Brazilian GP after being forced out at the season-opener in Australia on lap 40 with gear problems; was third at Interlagos last season; the German driver turned in a surprising season last year and was tipped to be just as good this year; finished third in the drivers' championship with 54 points; won the Italian and French GPs, had three third-place finishes and six fourth-place results. Eddie Irvine -- The 1999 F1 runner-up had handling difficulties in Australia after a collision with Arrows' Pedro de la Rosa on lap 8 and retired; rode a superb season in 1999, his last with Ferrari; now drives for Jaguar; earned points in all but two races and failed to finish just one, at San Marino; won four races and was on the podium five other times; lost the championship by two points (76-74) to Mika Hakkinen. Michael Schumacher -- The German driver collected his first win at the Australian Grand Prix as Ferrari took a 1-2 finish and an early advantage in the standings; consistenly good in Brazil, where he won while with Benetton in 1994 and 1995, his title seasons; was second on the podium last year, third in 1998, 1996 and 1993, and fifth in 1997; is third on the all-time wins list with 35. Ralf Schumacher -- The younger brother of Michael is ready to follow up his third-place finish in Australia at the demanding Interlagos track; he ran well here last season with a fourth-place finish and will look to improve on that in 2000; being the top driver for BMW-Williams this year, there is more pressure on him. Jacques Villeneuve -- Extremely pleased after earning his first points since 1998 with a fourth-place score in Australia; in his 1997 championship season, he shook off a minor accident and a restart, driving to victory at Interlagos; the son of former Formula One champion Gilles Villeneuve hopes to have a better season than the disappointing 1999.
